Hard to put into words.

Words have not come easy lately. It has been about 3 weeks since I blogged. I can't decide if I have no words or too many. Probably too many, clogging up my brain so I can't arrange them in a coherent way. I mean, 2 diagnoses in less than 4 months is kinda overwhelming by anyone's standards. Anyway, my awesome friend Jen encouraged me to continue spreading awareness, saying she has learned more real, practical information from me than she did in pharmacy school. So I will try to organize the jumble of words and emotions in my head in order to continue helping people understand this horrible, invisible disease just a little bit better.  More awareness means a better chance we will KDA.

  1. I'm so sorry! I hope life brings something sweet really soon! Would love to get together with you to talk about friendly foods. Is that weird? We love food around here...especially carb friendly food!

You're doing a great job spreading awareness!

    1. You know, it's not weird at all in context of this disease where everything is weird! Yes, let's talk! We love food, too. The carb needs of a growing teenager are so different from an adult, we are finding. Thanks for your kind words!

  2. It's a very surreal isn't it? 3 months into both of our dx and I still can't believe it.

I think the thing with type 1 is that nobody really knows much about it until they have to. The more we talk about the more understanding people will have.

    1. Surreal is a good way to describe it! I knew a little about it before dx, but not much. We'll just keep talking about and helping as many people understand it as possible!

  3. I second what Jen says. I have learned so much from you and my sis-in-love with gestational diabetes that has augmented my pharmacy school learning. Thanks for making it real, even though I am so sorry it is real.

    1. Thanks, Kendra. It's hard to bare my soul to the whole internet, but I think it's too important not to.
